At the Alpine Colorectal Meeting 2026, held in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, from February 1–3, 2026, international colorectal experts will gather to discuss the latest developments in colorectal cancer management. Professor Denost will deliver an innovative presentation entitled “Should We Keep the Middle Rectum in Our Treatment Algorithms?”, exploring the relevance of the middle rectum concept in contemporary rectal cancer treatment strategies. This lecture will challenge traditional anatomical classifications in light of recent advances in surgery, radiotherapy, and organ-preservation approaches, with the aim of further personalizing patient care.
