Innovation

BCI is involved in several national randomized therapeutic trials on :

  • rectal cancer: perioperative treatment and operative techniques,
  • inflammatory bowel diseases: use of the stoma, digestive and sexual sequelae of surgery, impact of preoperative treatments on postoperative complications.

BCI carries out and coordinates several research projects at national and international level on :

  • low pressure laparoscopic surgery,
  • the selective use of the stoma in rectal cancer surgery,
  • organ preservation in rectal cancer,
  • shared medical decision making in colorectal surgery.

All these innovations are presented to BCI patients so that they can participate if they wish.

BCI's commitment is to offer patients all the more recent managements and future innovations in colorectal disease in terms of peri- and intra-operative management.
